2009 Club Championships

UPDATE: Due to washouts on the first day of the Club Championships, all events have been pushed back by one week. To avoid play on Easter Saturday, the finals for the Senior events will be held on the night of Thursday, 9 April 2009 as there is no night tennis competition that night.

Events will include (subject to sufficient entries):

  • Boys’ Singles and Doubles — A Grade, B Grade, C Grade and D Grade
  • Girls’ Singles and Doubles and Mixed Doubles — A Grade, B Grade and C Grade
  • Open Men's and Ladies' Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles

The competition is open to all members and in particular all members of junior teams are expected to participate. All events will be run in a Round Robin format with each entrant guaranteed at least two matches in each event. The anticipated Schedule of Play is as follows:

Saturday 21 March 2009 — Junior peliminary rounds

12.00 pm – 2.30 pm                  A Grade singles matches

1.30 pm – 3.30 pm                  B Grade singles matches

2.30 pm – 4.30 pm                   C Grade and D Grade singles matches

2.30 pm – 5.00 pm                  A Grade and B Grade doubles matches

4.30 pm – 6.00 pm                  C Grade and D Grade doubles matches

Saturday 28 March 2009 — Junior finals

12.30 pm – 2.00 pm                 A Grade singles matches

1.30 pm – 3.00 pm                  B Grade singles matches

2.00 pm – 4.00 pm                   C Grade and D Grade singles matches

3.00 pm – 5.00 pm                  A Grade and B Grade doubles matches

4.00 pm – 6.00 pm                  C Grade and D Grade doubles matches

Junior players must be 17 or under as at 31 March 2009. This year junior events are divided into grades, rather than age groups. Juniors can enter events in their own grade level and a higher grade level. Juniors can enter a maximum of four junior events.

 

Each event will be played in a Round Robin format with each player guaranteed at least 2 matches in each event. The exact format of each event will differ, depending on the number of entries received.
